top gaming processor for 2021

Here we have curated a list of best gaming CPU’s for the year 2021 in Nepal.

When shopping for the best gaming processor for your gaming rig, it is the question of frame rates and your budget. You have to balance your budget with the type of rig you are planning to build. We will give you some tips and list up some processors to help you choose the best CPU for your gaming desktops/laptops. Before directly jumping into the top gaming processor for 2021, let’s take a look at some recent highlights on AMD and Intel.

Recently, AMD’s Zen 3-powered Ryzen 5000 CPUs have surpassed Intel and taken the lead as the fastest gaming processor on the market, largely due to a 19% increase in IPC and unified L3 cache that reduces latency. However, with the excellent Zen 3 chips, the stunning AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, and AMD Ryzen 7 5800X are still the powerhouse and our favorites today.

The new Intel’s Rocket Lake processors, the i9-11900K and i9-11900 have also arrived in the market. Rocket Lake comes with Intel’s first new architecture in the last six years, albeit with the caveat that the company still uses the 14nm process, and the chips top out at eight cores. It matches out with the Ryzen 9 5900X in gaming but fails shortly in application performance with its lack of cores. More likely the 11th Gen i9 Processors won’t be included in our top gaming processor for 2021 list.

Choosing the Best Gaming CPU

Check out the CPU Benchmarks hierarchy by Tomshardware for CPU comparisons backed by processor benchmarks for a list of processors by performance. Also, higher-end chips get the most benefit from the best thermal paste, so don’t forget to check out some thermal pastes as well.

If your main goal is gaming, you can’t forget about the graphics card. Getting the best possible gaming CPU won’t help you much if your GPU is underpowered and/or out of date. So be sure to check out Graphics Cards, as well as GPU Benchmarks Hierarchy to make sure you have the right card for the level of gaming you’re looking to achieve.

Quick Shopping Tips

When choosing a CPU in 2021, consider the following:

  • Both AMD and Intel are Good on their own: Most of the internet claims that AMD makes better CPUs overall these days. But if we are considering the current-generation parts, the performance debate is basically a wash, particularly when it comes to gaming. Some of the most expensive mainstream Intel processors do slightly better on gaming, and AMD handles tasks like video editing quicker (thanks largely to extra cores and threads).
  • Clock speed matters in gaming than the number of cores: In gaming, a higher clock speed means better performance in common tasks such as gaming. However, more cores will help you get through time-consuming workloads faster. In the end, the fastest CPUs of any family of processors have the highest clock speeds.
  • Budget for a full system: Don’t pair a strong CPU with weak storage, RAM, and graphics.
  • Overclocking isn’t for everyone: For many who want to just get to gaming, it makes more sense to spend Rs. 4000 Rs. 10000 more and buy a higher-end chip, rather than spending money on a higher-end cooler and spending lots of time tweaking to achieve slightly higher performance.
